Is it possible to share charts from a C140W to a E80? If so what is required to do it?

If I obtain a C90W and connect it to the C140W via STNG will charts then be shared?
Welcome back to the Raymarine Forum Pan76,

Q1. Is it possible to share charts from a C140W to a E80? If so what is required to do it?
A1. Negative. Please note that E-Series Classic MFDs have only been designed and tested to be interfaced via Ethernet communications to other E-Series Classic MFDs. Similarly, C-Series Widescreen MFDs have only been designed and tested to be interfaced via Ethernet communications to one other C-Series Classic MFDs. C-Series Widescreen MFDs have not been designed and tested to be interfaced via Ethernet communications to other models of MFDs.

Q2. If I obtain a C90W and connect it to the C140W via STNG will charts then be shared?
A2. No. The displays need to be connected on STHS to share the chart data.
I now have a C90W connected to a C140W via a powered and otherwise well working STNG-network.
The charts are not shared and I can’t figure out how to share them...
Hello Pan76,

The widescreen displays need to be connected on STHS to share chart data.

The STNG does not pass chart data in between the displays.

I would recommend connecting the two displays with STHS cables and they will share the chart data.

An example of a cable would be the A62245. There are also many other STHS cables to facilitate connecting the displays. https://www.raymarine.com/view/index-id=5537.html

Chris,
A bit confusing as the first reply stated that it would be shared via STNG..

I have a STHS cable running from the C140W to a radarantenna with a joint close to the C90W. Would it be possible to put a RJ45-splitter there and connect the C90W to that and then get the chart shared?
Hi Pan76,

Thank you for informing of that error. I have corrected it in the previous post.

If you are refering to adding a HS5 switch to connect the displays and the Radar, yes that will work.
