I have an AIOM 9rv with the CPT-S connected. 2 questions

1 - Do these deucers burn out if run out of the water like the legacy deucers did
2 - If I disable ping on the deucer, does that allow me to still power and work with the mfd or should I disconnect the deucer until im in the water?

A1-Yes they do.

Q2-If I disable ping on the ducer, does that allow me to still power and work with the mfd or should I disconnect the ducer until I'm in the water?
A2-You have the choice of disabling the ping or unplugging the transducer. Either option works.
