My E120 display is suddenly malfunctioning. It gets too dark and eventually turns completely black. Checked the light adjustment control and Day/Night navigation controls and all seems to be correct.

Welcome to the Raymarine forum,
The E120 model display was retired from our range in March 2010. Even though in its day it was great technology the display components expire depending on how much work they've done and in some cases just degrading over time for many reasons.
Regrettably it seems like the display needs to be replaced.
