With current software in the P70R and an Spx-10, is it normal to have a grayed out option of "Restart XTE" on the P70R? I've seen it work paired to an evolution series, but wonder why it wouldn't work on an Spx series.

Indeed the Restart XTE feature of p70/p70R Autopilot Control Heads operating with the latest software may only exercised when the system includes an Evolution autopilot. Should the system include other autopilots, then the command to restart XTE would need to be performed via the MFD / Chartplotter.
