Can the CP200 be used on a full keel displacement sailboat?

Our primary interest in this technology would be used during the entering of coral or rock reef passes, usually in shallow water between 10 and 20 feet of water depth.

Will the side vision perform in shallow waters between between 10 and 20 feet and still provide images on the side, and if so to what distance?

Our concern is that the visual spread on each side is dependent upon the depth of the water.
Lazybones,

As Raymarine only offers a transom mounted transducer for the CP200, it would not be advised that this product be used on a sailboat. While the CP200 is designed to function well in water depths as shallow as you have indicated and reach out over 100' to either side of the vessel, its imaging is not forward looking in nature. Accordingly, it is recommended that you seek a forward looking sonar product for the stated purpose. Unfortunately, as Raymarine does not offer any forward looking sonar products at this time, it would be necessary to seek such an item from a third party manufacturer.
