I wanted to install an additional I40 depth instrument as a repeater into my I70/ITC5 backbone. My question is do I need to install the seatalk1 to seatalkng converter setup or can I simply use the adaptor cable A06047 for the I40 to get the depth data off of the network?

The i70/i70S, p70/p70R, i50, and i60 products cannot simultaneously be interfaced as a spur to the SeaTalkng backbone and be interfaced via the SeaTalk to SeaTalkng adapter cable to a SeaTalk bus or SeaTalk device (ex. i40, ST60, etc.). In this case, it will be necessary to install a SeaTalk to SeaTalkng Converter within to SeaTalkng backbone to support using the i40 as a repeater.
