Buying used 15 year old Tartan 3700 in great shape. Dealer offering upgrade of electronics to Raymarine i70 base system (speed, depth, AWI, and 2 displays, may add third display), new VHF with remote mike, Raymarine a125 chartplotter, Fusion stereo, Radome, etc. Boat has ST 6000 Autopilot.

1. Easy to add Class B AIS module?
2. Worth it to upgrade electronics for autopilot? Would new electronics work with older drive unit?
Welcome to the Raymarine Forum bigskyrad,

With respect to adding AIS features to the system, its is recommended that an AIS transceiver having a SeaTalkng / NMEA 2000 communications interface (ex. AIS650) be added to the system, as is would not only support AIS features on the a125 MFD, but also on the i70 MFID. Regarding the autopilot, it is quite possible that the autopilot may be interfaced to system. However, the interfacing protocol used (NMEA 0183 or SeaTalkng) would depend upon the model of autopilot course computer installed onboard ... the ST6000 is the autopilot's control head. If supplied with the model of autopilot course computer installed onboard, then further recommendations may be provided.
Thank you. We have completed purchase of the boat. Refit and upgrade work will start this month. This will be helpful.
You're welcome.
