Thanks Chuck. Guess I was thinking the sensor received power from the MFD but understand now.

I am considering a new sensor. Looking at the Raymarine 130 with a seaTalk NG cable. My two E120ws, DSM 300 and radome are all connected via seaTalk HS network hub. Wanted to ask if the new 300 would plug directly to the master E120w using the NG cable? Or would it require the NG "backbone"?

Thanks!
Fishbut,

Q1. Wanted to ask if the new 300 would plug directly to the master E120w using the NG cable?
A1. I assume that you actually meant Raystar 130 GPS Sensor, not "new 300". If so, then the answer would be no. Please click here to view a FAQ addressing this subject. Again, the Raystar 130 GPS Sensor has been replace by the Raystar 150 GPS Sensor.

Q2. Or would it require the NG "backbone"?
A2. Yes. See the link included within my prior response which would direct you to a FAQ addressing how a Raystar 130/150 GPS Sensor would be interface to a C/E-Series Widescreen MFD.
