I installed the ECI-100 to my system which includes 2 e127 and 1 e125 MFDs and a 2014 Honda BF250 Outboard. The LEDs flash green every 15 secs, per the manual on both the NMEA and SeaTalkNG sides of the interface. I am not able to get any ECI 100 specific data to show on the Data page. I know the engine is outputting data as I have the Honda NMEA gauge set and they work fine. I called Tech Support and their response was that the BF250 wasn't supported; with models only going to 225 HP shown. Is this true? If so, can the software be updated to include this very popular engine?

Thanks

Welcome to the Raymarine Forum Ken,

When interfaced to Honda engines, the ECI-100 must be updated with v1.20 or later ECI-100 software. The list of supported Honda Engines may be found on the Honda Engine Connection tab of the ECI-100 Engine Connectivity web page. We have determined that the BF250 outboards produced since 2013 should have been among the Honda engines listed. Raymarine will be updating the Honda Engine Connection tab of its ECI-100 Engine Connectivity web page accordingly.

From the standpoint of troubleshooting, it is recommended that you verify that you have executed the Engines Set-Up feature (HOME->SET-UP->SYSTEM SETTINGS->EXTERNAL DEVICES->ENGINES SET-UP) to permit your system to communicate with the engine system via the ECI-100.
Thank you very much. I will run the setup wizard and report back.

Ken
You're welcome.
Hey Chuck, turns out the Honda engine only puts out a very limited data set. I wish I would've read the available Data Set from the Honda marine website before I bought the Interface. The ECI-100 is working fine, but it mirrors the data form my Honda NMEA gauges, so it is of very little use to me. Guess I'll try to sell it on eBay. Thanks for all your help.

Ken
Ken,

The principle reasons for considering to interface an engine system to a Raymarine MFD are:
- the vessel is not equipped with engine gauges at one or more of the vessel's steering stations
- the operator is interested in using the MFD's Fuel Manager features, viewing fuel consumption rates, or fuel economy
- the operator is interested in remotely monitoring engine alarms

The full list of supported NMEA 2000 PGNs specified by Honda engines may be found here.
Thanks, I appreciate the excellent customer service, part of the reason I went with RayMArine! Also, a member of this forum just bought my ECI-100!! win-win.
You're welcome.
