While a/c/e/eS/gS-Series MFDs operating with the latest LightHouse II software support Autopilot Control and do not require an autopilot control head when interfaced to an Evolution autopilot, the Autopilot Control feature has not yet been implemented with LightHouse 3 software for the Axiom MFDs. Accordingly, an Evolution Autopilot Control Head will need to be installed at this time should an Axiom MFD be interfaced to an Evolution Autopilot. This feature has been logged as a high priority feature to be included within a future LightHouse 3 software update for the Axiom MFDs.

I have the same question as the OP. His answer:

What’s the answer now that it’s 20 months later? I’m looking at buying a new boat with a 9†Axiom installed but no room for a separate control head. Help please.
