SeaTalk and SeaTalkng/NMEA 2000 processing limited to Data Master MFD

Unlike NMEA 0183 communications (if supported by the MFD), SeaTalk and SeaTalkng/NMEA 2000 processing is limited to the system's Data Master MFD. Only one MFD within system of compatible MFDs which have been interfaced to on another via Ethernet communications may be configured as the system's Data Master MFD. Accordingly, should the system feature a SeaTalk bus or SeaTalkng / NMEA 2000 backbone, then the SeaTalk bus or SeaTalkng / NMEA 2000 backbone must be interfaced to the system's Data Master MFD.

Note: For redundancy purposes, it is permissible to interface more than one MFD to the SeaTalk bus or SeaTalkng / NMEA 2000 backbone to then permit an alternate MFD to be designated as the system's Data Master MFD.
