I have a Tacktick depth sounder T905 wired into a hull transmitter. I sent the unit back for testing and it was verified to be working correctly. When I switch the unit on, sometimes it shows 3 dashes, and then sometimes it shows the depth. The depth will show for a minute or so, then it goes back to 3 dashes, then it will show depth again. Can anyone tell me what is going on and why it wont show depth consistently?

Please excuse this late response to your thread. Based upon the symptoms reported and actions taken, it appears that the transducer is failing. This may be verified by testing the hull transmitter with another transducer which has temporarily suspended over the side of the hull. When performing such testing, the depth of the water must be at least 3' beneath the transducer.
