Are DownVision, SideVision, and RealVision3D supported when on plane?

Traditional fishfinding sonars are generally designed to support fishfinding at trolling speeds. Similarly, DownVision, SideVision, and RealVision3D fishfinder sonar imaging require that the vessel be operating at trolling speeds. At higher speeds, the imaging from these sonar technologies may become stretched, distorted, and otherwise unusable.

As bottom tracking is desirable when operating at high planing speeds, conical sonar (ex. high CHIRP, 50kHz/200kHz sonar, 1kW CHIRP conical sonar) supported by a thru-hull or in-hull transducer is typically recommended. For ax8 and eSx8 MFDs, this is typically accomplished by interfacing the MFDs to a CP370 or CP470 which in turn has been interfaced to a compatible transducer. Raymarine has made this a bit easier for owners of Axiom DV MFDs and Axiom RV MFDs by offering Axiom Transducer Y-Cables permitting the MFD to additionally be interfaced to a compatible 50kHz/200kHz fishfinder transducer. Similarly, Axiom Pro RVX MFDs have a second transducer port, permitting the MFD to additionally be interfaced to a compatible 1kW CHIRP transducer or compatible 50kHz/200kHz transducer.
