Full Version: (DG) How to select the right drive units? Autopilot
You're currently viewing a stripped down version of our content. View the full version with proper formatting.
Currently I have installed a hydraulic system with the following pump:

Brand Capilano
Model 1275V
Part No. HH5275

Displacement 2.7 cu.in-5.4 cu.in (44,2 cc-88.4 cc)
Relief valve 1000 PSI - (70 Bar)
Ports 3/8" NPT

What drive unit should I buy to install an autopilot?

Thanks
Hi PROGECON

Thank you for your enquiry.

With a hydraulic Autopilot it is essential to match the flow rate of the hydraulic pump to the cubic capacity of the steering cylinder attached to the rudder.

The selection of the correct pump is described here

For information about thread sizes click here for details.

Once you have selected the correct pump, the correct ACU can be identified and then the EV1 and p70s can be added to complete the system.

regards
Hi Dereck

cylinder is:

Brand Capilano
Model: BA-200-7TM
Stroke: 7" - 178 mm
Volume: 18.9 cu. in. (310cc)
Torque @ 1000psi 70 bar @ 35 degrees: 13200in/lbs (151Kg)

According to these specifications the correct unit would be type 2.

It is right?

Therefore the controller would be ACU-400

Regards
HI PROGECON

Thanks for the information, you are correct, the right pump to use is the T2 and this will require an ACU400, along with an EV1 and a p70s controlhead.

Thanks

Derek
