I have just replaced my RAY 230 with a RAY 52. I have kept the active speaker from the 230 in my boat.

My question is: can i use the active speaker as an external speaker for the 52? I realise that I will need to cut the end connections of the speaker cable and the 52 speaker extension cable to expose the wires.

The RAY230 active speaker cannot be used with the RAY52.

There is circuitry inside the active speaker that is not adaptable to the RAY52.

Thank you. I will need to buy a passive speaker then. Is is the same size as the Raymarine speaker that went with the Ray 230?

What Raymarine speaker can connect to the Ray 52 external speaker connection.

Any of the Raymarine passive speakers can be used, they are of the same size , being a 4" square housing for the speaker.
