Hi, I've inherited a gyroplus 2, and the manual says that its can feed accurate heading data to st4000 and later autopilot control heads. Is this also the case for earlier autopilots? I have a perfectly serviceable st2000 and dont want to change it....
Thanks for your advice.
Welcome to the Raymarine Forum Yourmomm,
Unlike the S1, S2 or S3 autopilot course computers and ST4000+ / ST5000+ autopilot systems identified within the Smart Heading System's Owner's Manual, the ST2000+ neither features the ability to process NMEA 0183 HDM sentences nor to calibrate an external heading source. The heading data rate on a SeaTalk bus is 1Hz, which is much too slow for an autopilot.
