Have installed and am attempting Dockside Commissioning. Notice a RED LED on the ACU and a GREEN LED on the EV1. The RED is solid, not flashing. Checked wiring and all seems to be correct. What could be the problem?
Welcome back to the Raymarine Forum Pvaurochs,

Please refer to Chapter 6.5: LED indications — ACU of the Evolution EV-1 and ACU Installation Instructions for information concerning the different warnings that its Status LED are designed to report. Should its Status LED be red and not flashing as indicated then it is not detecting SeaTalkng communications with the EV-1 or has suffered a failure. The first conditions may be indicative of incompatible versions of software within the ACU and within the EV-1 CCU. As a first step, it would be recommended that you ensure that the SeaTalkng / NMEA 2000 backbone is properly terminated and features a single power insertion spur. If so and the problem persists, then is would be recommended that the ACU be disconnected from the backbone and that the EV-1 CCU be updated with the latest available Raymarine product software update. After doing so, then the EV-1 should be disconnected from the backbone and the ACU-150 should be updated with the latest available software update. Should the problem persist thereafter, then please respond accordingly and attach a system diagram of the vessel's marine electronics system.
Chuck, is it possible to use my Garmin GPSMAP 942 chartpoltter to update the software on the EV1?
Thanks, Tom
Pvaurochs,

Unfortunately, the software within most marine electronics products (Raymarine and third party) is exclusively designed to be updated by products from the same manufacturer. Should the system not include a compatible Raymarine MFD, then please click here to view a FAQ addressing how the software within the Raymarine product may be updated.
