I just purchased a boat with a e120 and a DSM 300. When I power up the e120 it says the DSM is not recognized. Could the DSM be bad?

What is the precise error message you are seeing about the DSM300 not being recognized?
Is the E120 seeing the DSM300 at all or does it appear to look like a sounding module is not connected to the E120?
