Hi there, I have purchased a second-hand Raymarine DS500X unit with transom mount transducer. Can this unit work with a thru hull transducer? My launch has a thru hull Aymar plastic S200 installed which worked with a Humminbird unit, but the transducer does not seem to work anymore.
Could I retrofit a recent Aymar tranducer in the fitting and connect to my DS500X?

It is certainly possible to use the DS500X with a compatible fishfinder transducer. However, Humminbird transducers would not be compatible / supported for use with the DS400X/500X/600X Fishfinders. The Raymarine's cx7 MFDs, the DS400X/500X/600X Fishfinders may be used with the fishfinder transducers found here.
