Hi,
I am preparing to install an i70 multi system pack on my Catalina 30 sailboat. The documentation for the DST800V triducer states a maximum deadrise angle of 20 degrees. The suitable location on a fin keel bottom is in front of the keel but this area on my boat has a deadrise angle of 25 degrees. Can I still install it flush to the bottom at that angle?
Thanks,
Gavin
Welcome to the Raymarine Forum Gavin,

It is not recommended that sonar transducers be mounted to hull surfaces having a deadrise which is outside of the specified deadrise range for the sonar transducer. Failure to heed this recommendation can and typically does result in poor sonar performance.
Thanks Chuck. Does Raymarine sell plastic fairings that could be used to angle the installation? I haven’t been able to locate one in my on line searches.
Gavin,

Raymarine does not offer fairing blocks for the DST800 transducers.
Great help.
You're welcome.
