Hello,
I have recently purchased a RD218 radome to use with a C90W display, purchased after found advice that the RD218 & RD418 are suitable. I now have conflicting advise with regards to compatibility. Can I have definitive advice on this matter, many thanks,
Lester
Dear Seascaper,

Thank you for your query.

The RD218 and RD418 are both analogue radomes and the last MFD we manufactured that was compatible with the analogue radar was the C Classic.

The C90W is compatible with digital radars only, our current digital radars that can be used your your C90W are available here.

Many Thanks
Louise
Hello Louise,

Thank you for your reply however the confusion I would like sorted is as follows:

The later versions of the RD218 can have their operating software upgrades to operate with a C90W.
The early RD218 analogue Radome is also available as a RD218 Digital Radome.

One scanner has a plane Radome the other has Digital also on the display

Regards

Lester
Dear Seascaper,

Thank you for your post. The digital radars were usually described as a RD218D.

Can you provide the part numbers and I will confirm if they are compatible with a C90W, analogue radars I can confirm are not.

Many Thanks
Louise
Hello Louise,

The serial number on the Radome is E52065/0970456 - Sept 2007
RD218 2KW 18” Radome

In the handbook with the C90w it shows that the RD218 is compatible.
Thanks for your help,
Regards
Lester
Dear Seascaper,

Thank you for your query.

The modified RD218D is a digitak version of the RD218, your model E52065/0970456 is the analogue version and is not compatible with the C90W.

The wide variants do not have an analogue rtadar connection and are only compatible with the digital version as stated on page 27 of the C-Wide installation manual. This is available here.

Many Thanks
Louise
