Hi all,

I own a Seawind1000 with a set of Raymarine electronics as below:
- ST4000 autopilot
- ST50 Tridata
- ST50 Multi
- ST50 Wind (2)

My two ST50 Wind devices don't work. They are locked on an angle and nihter don't move nor indicate wind speed.

I need to replace them and I'd like to know if I have to replace for old ST50 Wind instruments, or if a new model will "talk"with the old instruments (ST4000/ST50 multi/tridata)

Best regards,

Armando
HI Armando,
Thank you for your enquiry,

Please disconnect the two wind displays from the rest of the network and connect one at a time to the masthead transducer. Do either of them respond when set to APPARENT WIND?

If no, then they can be replaced with i60 Wind displays, you will need a D244 SeaTalk junction block and an adapter cable A06073 for each i60 display.

Derek
Hi Derek,

Thanks for your prompt reply.

To do that I have a second problem. My windvane (and base) was remove from the top of the mast for the last boat owner (cable and connector also). What is the best solution, thinking I'm in Brazil and it is not easy to get the parts to do the tests?

1- Buy a new windvane/cable/connector (which one is compatible) and do the tests?

2- Buy a new set i60 (display and windvane) + D244 + A06073?

Thanks in advance

Armando
Hi Armando,
You could buy the mastcable and mast top mounting bracket, part number A28162 and then use this to test the masthead unit whilst still on the deck, this would be a simpler and safer way to test.

regards
Derek
