Welcome to the Raymarine Forum Martin,
Pressing and releasing the E-Series Classic MFD's (v5.69) POWER button should change the MFD's function key labels to provide options for TX/STANDBY, Scanner ON/OFF, and Palette DAY/NIGHT options. If the Scanner is OFF, then the TX/STANDBY option will be greyed out (desensitized). If pressing and releasing the MFD's POWER button does not cause the MFD's function keys to be so labeled, then it would indicate a failure of the MFD's keypad PCB. In the case of the latter, the MFD would need to be replaced, as Raymarine's Product Repair Center can no longer provide parts and service for the E-Series Classic MFDs.
