Hi, I have two Raymarine Axiom and an Evolution AP, all on SeaTalk NG.

I ALSO have a separate NMEA 2000 backbone running Honda NMEA 2000 gauges (single engine, 2 multifunction gauges, speed and tach)

I would like engine data from that backbone on the Axiom’s SeaTalk NG backbone and I would also like to use the Axiom’s SOG data to feed the speedo on the N2K engine backbone.

I ordered the ECI because it looks as though the ECI-100 will fetch the engine data from the NMEA 2000 backbone, but will it send any data TO the NMEA 2000 backbone? The manual doesn’t say if it will or not. But I need some way to get SOG to that gauge.

If the ECI can’t send any data TO N2K, what else can I do besides add a NMEA 2000 GPS antenna to the N2K backbone?
Welcome to the Raymarine Forum OTR,

Q. Will it (ECI-100) send any data TO the NMEA 2000 backbone?
A. Negative. The ECI-100 is designed to support one-way communications engine system -> electronics backbone. You may want to see if the engine system features a NMEA 0183 communications interface. If so, then the E70196 VHF NMEA 0183 to STng Converter Kit may be used to supply GPS data (including SOG) to the engine system.
