Hi

I have an older B744V(2007) connected to a CP370(2017) networked to a E120 display. The fish finder has become sporadic and is now displaying the following. Please see attached photo. This issue was noticed back in 2017 which is when the CP370 was installed to try and eliminate the cause, however the fault persisted and worsened until it became almost un-usable.

Although it's set to manual in the photo, manual/auto has been used for frequency and range etc. Get the same behavior. All settings etc have been checked no avail.


The LED's on the CP370 indicate correct function with flashing green.
All normal fault-finding has been checked and confirmed ok. Any suggestions on next steps please? Thanks.

Please note that the subject symptoms are those of hunting for bottom and would be indicative of a vessel which was on the hard, the depth of water beneath the transducer was less than 3', the transducer is fouled with marine growth, has a faulty transducer, or has a faulty fishfinder sounder module. As the problem had initially manifested itself with the previous fishfinder sounder module and transducer, it is quite possible that the reported issue may be rooted within the transducer. Before testing the sounder module with another transducer, it is recommended that the Bottom Lock feature be disabled, and that the depth range be manually configured to a depth which is slightly greater than the actual depth to reacquire the bottom. Should the problem persist, then a DSM Reset would should be commanded from within the Fishfinder application's settings, followed by transducer selection. Should the problem persist, then the problem may be fault isolated by testing the CP370 with another compatible transducer which has been suspended over the side of the hull or has been placed atop a bag of water which in turn was place on the hull's bottom (the latter may only be applicable to hulls which are constructed of solid fiberglass which is no more than 5/8" thick). Should the system perform properly wit the test transducer, then the currently installed transducer should be replaced. However, should the problem persist with the test transducer, then the CP370 should be sent to Raymarine’s Product Repair Center to be bench checked / serviced.
