All,
When a company does a VHF upgrade, can i just bring the handset to the electronics company? Or does the upgrade do something to the transceiver mounted behind the dash. I really don't want to have to pay for the 2 hour drive time for a 15 min task.

Welcome to the Raymarine Forum Brian,

Unlike later models of modular VHF radios, no software updates were produced for the handsets of the Ray240. The software update for the Ray240 required that the Ray240 base station be sent to Raymarine’s Product Repair Center. Simply unplug the cables from the base station to then permit it to be removed and shipped.
