Cable steering with hydraulic assist. It will be interfaced with a Axiom 9.
What unit is recommended?

here to view a FAQ addressing this subject. As indicated within the referenced FAQ, I have fitted my own Mercruiser I/O powered, cable steered, power assisted sport boat with an Octopus Type R Remote Mechanical Autopilot Drive Unit and have mated it to a T70156 Raymarine EV-200 Power Pilot.
Chuck, thanks for the reply. Looking thru the Raymarine drive unit selection, there is a stern drive unit that appears to be very similar to the octopus unit you mention. Is this not applicable for my boat?

Raymarine US currently offers no drive units which are applicable for cable steered I/O applications. Octopus autopilot drive units are recommended for such applications.
