I have a CP370 matched with a B258 transducer feeding into a E97 screen. It seems to work fine inshore, but offshore it just seems to show a wide band which looks like a wide thermocline down aroeund 100 feet. It never marks fish. I was out 2 weeks ago with other boats surrounded by fish and their screens were lit up and mine was blank. I installed it 2 years ago and it's never seemed to work. Any ideas? I don't trust the set-up at this point and I feel blind when I'm offshore. Help!
Welcome to the Raymarine Forum Grady330,

This is quite unusual performance for a system featuring a CP370. It is recommended that you verify that the CP370 has been updated with v13.34 CP370 software and if not, that its software be updated accordingly via the e97 MFD. If so and after doing so, then it would be recommended that a Sounder Reset (MENU->SET-UP->SOUNDER SET-UP->SOUNDER RESET) be commanded via the MFD and that the B258 transducer then be selected from the Fishfinder settings (MENU->SET-UP->TRANSDUCER SET-UP->TRANSDUCER.

Should the problem persist thereafter, then it would be recommended that the B258 transducer be tested by a Certified Raymarine Installer having a transducer tester. Should no fault be found with the transducer, then it would be recommended that the CP370 be sent to Raymarine’s Product Repair Center to be bench checked / serviced.
Thank you. I will check it out!
You're welcome.
