I am attempting to update the software for my P70 and keep getting an error. My Axiom 9 software is up to date. Any advice?

Shannon
Welcome to the Raymarine Forum CivEngPE,

What version of software and bootloader software is presently installed within the p70 autopilot control head. The update dialog also appears to show an invalid serial number for the p70. Please respond with the system's Ethernet and SeaTalkng / NMEA 2000 device data file (HOME->SET-UP->NETWORK->DIAGNOSTICS->PRODUCT INFO->SAVE DATA).
Here is the diagnostics report.
Shannon,

The problem is occurring because the currently posted software assumes that the autopilot's control head has been previously updated with v1.01 Bootcode, which your autopilot control head has not. This version of p70/p70R bootcode must be installed prior to attempting to install the latest p70/p70R software update. Unfortunately, the design of the software update file for the p70/p70R changed over its production life to use of .iso files. Axiom MFDs are not designed to perform software updates to products expecting the earlier software update file design. Accordingly, it would be recommended that the p70 be sent to Raymarine’s Product Repair Center to receive the software update and to bench checked / serviced to address the invalid (all zeros) serial number.

Additionally, the software within the SPX autopilot course computer and ST70 devices is also also not up to date and very early (version-wise). Axiom MFDs are likewise not designed to update the software within these legacy devices. It would be accordingly recommended that a Certified Raymarine Installer be contacted to visit the boat with a MFD running LightHouse II software to then update the software within these autopilot and instrument components to maximize performance with the Axiom MFD.
Thank you Chuck! I have an appointment with a tech to visit the boat this week.
You're welcome.
