I have a 19 foot Carolina Skiff DLV. I currently have a Garmin 740 but I'm looking to upgrade. I thought I wanted an Axiom 7 but now I think that might be overkill. Would an Element 7 be a good fit? I mostly fish back bays and not open water.

For the application which you have described, Element would indeed be a good fit.
