Hi
most of the time my fluxgate compass is working perfectly.
Recalibration gives a deviation of 1 degree, which I think is pretty good.
But every now and again it goes off on a wonder, usually in an anticlockwise direction, which, if running on autopilot sends my boat into a clockwise spin.
After a few minutes of spinning, the fluxgate compass typically settles back to normal behaviour.
The smartpilot computer model is a 3G, not sure about the fluxgate compass itself as it only has Raymarine written on the outside.
Appreciate any thoughts on possible cause.
