[CA11] P79 - Axiom Pro 16" - PetrelMarine - 01-23-20 07:55 PM

Can you please confirm that a P79 in-hull transducer can be used with an Axiom Pro 16" MFD and what adapter is required to make that work. I did look through the FAQ but couldn't see anything on this specifically. It's probably not a common question. Thank you for your help.

Welcome back to the Raymarine Forum PetrelMarine,

Which model of Axiom Pro 16 MFD (Axiom Pro 16 RVX or Axiom Pro 16 S) is being installed onboard the vessel? Will fishfinder features be required in conjunction with the P79 transducer or is the customer simply seeking numerical depth data. Should the latter be the case, then an iTC-5 Instrument Converter may be installed within the backbone and the E26001-pz P79 Transducer may in turn be interfaced to the iTC-5. With the introduction of LH3 v3.11.42, analog instrument transducers which have been interfaced to an iTC-5 may now be calibrated via the MFD rather than exclusively being calibrated by an i70/i70S MFID.

Hi Chuck

The Axiom Pro is an RVX version. Fish finder features will be required however a through hull or transom mount transducer cannot be used, consequently an in-hull transducer is needed. A depth data only option isn't desired in this particular instance but thanks for letting me know that. Thats a good to piece of information to know.
Thank you.

PetrelMarine,

While there are a number of in-hull fishfinder transducers options available for use with an Axiom Pro RVX MFDs, none will support RealVision, SideVision, DownVision, or low power / high frequency CHIRP sonar imaging. If seeking 1kW CHIRP sonar imaging, then any of the CP470/570 compatible 1kW (or greater) In-Hull Depth-Only Fishfinder Transducers (ex. M265LH, M265LM, M111LH, M111LM, etc.) may be interfaced to the Axiom Pro RVX MFD. If seeking 1kW 50kHz/200kHz sonar imaging, then any of the CP370 compatible 1kW (or greater) In-Hull Depth-Only Fishfinder Transducers (ex. M260, R199, etc.) may be adapted (A80490) to be interfaced to the 1kW Transducer socket of an Axiom Pro RVX MFD. If seeking 600W 50kHz/200kHz sonar imaging, then the E66008 P79 In-Hull Depth-Only Fishfinder Transducersmay be adapted (A80490) to be interfaced to the 1kW Transducer socket of an Axiom Pro RVX MFD.

Hi Chuck, can I use adaptor A80490 also to interface E66008 P79 In-Hull with an Axiom PRO DV 12'' MFD? (not RV).

Many thanks
Fabio

Welcome to the Raymarine Forum Fabio,

Raymarine does not offer a product having the name Axiom Pro DV. Raymarine offers the Axiom Pro S and Axiom Pro RVX MFDs. The internal fishfinder circuitry of the Axiom Pro S MFDs is exclusively designed for use with CPT-S transducers.

Yes, my question was about Axiom Pro S (not DV! sorry).

Thanks
Fabio
