Powering a MFD, Element display, or Dragonfly display off of the boat

Raymarine MFDs and Dragonfly displays feature built in simulation features to permit their owners to demonstrate/practice use of the product's features. Information concerning how to access the product's simulator may be found within the product's User's Guide or Advanced Operation Guide. When Raymarine requires power supplies to demonstrate our products, we will often use a commonly available 13.8VDC 5-15A or higher rated power supply (Ex. Pyramid PS-9KX, etc.). Some customers will simply connect the MFD to a 12V battery having a charger connected to it.

Raymarine has not designed/manufactured MFD power cables for "home use only". The a9x/a12x/c/e/eS9x/eS12x/gS-Series MFDs and Axiom Pro/Axiom XL MFDs are compatible with the following Power/NMEA 0183/Video Input Cables:
- R62379 Straight Power/NMEA 0183/Video Input Cable (recommended for at home use or other applications not subject to tight clearances behind the MFD)
- R70029 Right Angle Power/NMEA 0183/Video Input Cable (Recommended for applications with tight clearances behind the MFD).

The Axiom MFDs are compatible with the following Power Cables:
- R70523 Power/NMEA 2000 Cable (recommended for at home use or other applications not subject to tight clearances behind the MFD)
- R70561 Right Angle Power/NMEA 2000 Cable (Recommended for applications with tight clearances behind the MFD).

The Element Displays are compatible with the following Power Cables:
- R70523 Power/NMEA 2000 Cable (recommended for at home use or other applications not subject to tight clearances behind the MFD)

The a6x/a7x/eS7x MFDs are designed to use the R70159 Power Cable.

As the power cable supplied with Dragonfly displays features permanently attached transducer, it it generally recommended that those seeking to use their Dragonfly displays off of the boat utilize a Dragonfly Extension Cable to power the display. Dragonfly Extension Cables feature power leads intended to power the Dragonfly display. Raymarine offers the following Dragonfly Extension Cables:
- A80224 - 4m extension for Dragonfly displays using the CPT-60 / CPT-70 / CPT-80 transducers
- A80312 - 4m extension for Dragonfly displays using the Dragonfly CPT-DV / DVS transducers

When connecting a MFD's power cable or Dragonfly Extension Cable to a power supply for use off of the vessel, simply connect
- the drain lead along with the black lead of the cable to the power supply's negative terminal;
- the red lead of the cable to the power supply's positive terminal.
- optional third party male banana connectors can make connecting these cables to to the female banana sockets of many power supplies
