e7d not retaining bearing mode configuration setting - Mark maulden - 07-27-16 01:25 PM

My system:
E7D
Color HD radar
SPX-5 pilot
AIS 650

In system preferences, i set it to magnetic. When next powered up it had switched back to true. Has done this twice. Why?

Welcome to the Raymarine Forum Mark,

Within a properly functioning system, the same bearing mode (true or magnetic) should be displayed by all devices within the system. Should bearing mode be changed within one of the other devices with the system (ex. autopilot control head, etc.), then the associated change will be applied system wide. Should no change be configured with the MFD or other devices to change the bearing mode, then the reported issue may be symptomatic of incompatible software or a failure within the MFD's memory. Accordingly, it is recommended that any device which has been interfaced to the system be updated with the latest available Raymarine product software updates. Should the problem persist thereafter, then it would be recommended that the MFD be sent to Raymarine’s Product Repair Center to be bench checked / serviced.
