Seatalkng power cord color coding - Tim22 - 04-15-17 09:15 PM

I am installing a seatalkng backbone. The red power supply cable has a spur connector on one end and red, black, and uninsulated wire at the other. I presume the red is positive, black is negative. Could you tell me what the unshielded wire is for and what it should be connected to.

Thanks
Tim

Welcome to the Raymarine Forum Tim,

The bare wire which you have referenced is the SeaTalkng Power Cable's drain lead. Please click [http://forum.raymarine.com/showthread.php?tid=316]here[/url] to view a FAQ addressing this subject.
