Forward looking sonar? - Inspirare - 05-01-17 06:41 PM

Hi,
I've got an old sailboat with sonar from 2001. It works fine and talks to my e127 MFD via a Seatalk converter.

I would like to upgrade my old sonar to a new, forward looking sonar.

What are my options and what parts do I need for the upgrade?

Welcome to the Raymarine Forum Arvid,

Raymarine does not offer forward looking sonar. In the past, customers of forward looking sonar systems (ex. Interphase SE200, etc.) would interface the composite video output of such sonar system to the video input port or Raymarine MFDs to permit the MFDs to then display video imaging from the forward looking sonar. While the same capability exists for most of Raymarine's a/c/e/eS/gS-Series MFDs, the Axiom MFDs do not feature a composite video input port, making it necessary to convert composite video to IP video. You may want to consider searching the Internet for manufacturers of forward looking sonar featuring a composite video output.
