E127 wiring connection with Standard Horizon Gx2200 - epc7405 - 05-24-17 07:12 PM

I would like to connect the Gx2200 using the 38400 Baud connections. I have the instructions to do that but I am confused by the Raymarine instructions since I also need some 4800 baud output for other equipment.

I know I have to set the E127 port 1 and the Gx2200 to 38400 Baud however I also need to have 4800 baud connections for my Auto pilot high speed connection, an additional radio and my EPIRB. Port 2 seems to be for input only. How do I get 4800 baud output?

would appreciate some help.

Thanks

Ed Collins

Welcome to the Raymarine Forum Ed,

As you have suggested, the eS-Series MFDs have a limited number of NMEA 0183 communications ports. As such, you may want to free up the MFD's NMEA 0183 Port 1 by instead interfacing the Gx2200 to a NMEA 0183 to SeaTalkng / NMEA 2000 data bridging device featuring support AIS data bridging (ex. Actisense NGW-1-ISO-AIS, etc.) which will then be interfaced as a spur to the system's SeaTalkng / NMEA 2000 backbone.

Thanks for the reply. The E127 and an a95 are connected using a Raynet F cable. If I connect the Standard Horizon to the a95 NMEA port 1 using 38400 baud will the AIS data be passed to the E127 or should I just attached my NMEA 4800 baud instruments to the A95 and the Standard Horizon to the E127 port 1 at 38400 baud?

Thanks

Ed,

As you have a second MFD having a NMEA 0183 communications interface, it would indeed be possible to interface the GX2200 to one of the MFDs and your devices supporting 4800 BAUD NMEA 0183 communications to the other MFD.
