Wireless NMEA 2000 connectivity - JDGALE0070 - 10-19-17 07:03 PM

Chuck,
Is it possible to set up two nav stations with MFDs (and other NMEA instruments) in two widely separated locations and interface each of them to a wireless router so that NMEA cableing does not need to be run as a backbone between the two locations, yet they can still share data. If so, what would be needed in addition to two NMEA compatible wireless routers and each NMEA backbone?

Welcome to the Raymarine Forum JDGALE0070,

It is not uncommon for one to use a NMEA 2000 to Wi-Fi communications interface to support communications between a system and a computer or mobile device running a navigational software app. Unfortunately, I don't have any familiarity with any products which would support the end which you are seeking. In this case I would recommend searching for possible solutions and/or contacting manufacturers of NMEA 2000 to Wi-Fi devices for suggestions.
