MFD shield wire connection - k7cej@aracnet.com - 03-23-16 06:58 PM I am completely revamping my sailboat from Patherfinder/ST gear to eS97, a125, STng, etc. The power/data cables for the MFDs have shield wires, which the manual says to hook to the RF ground or -12v. My RF ground is isolated from -12v to eliminate DC loops. What is the internal connection of the shield? simple VOM measurements suggest that they are capacitively coupled.
