[CA] - AIS 650 with E120 Classic AND Axiom Pro - jkspain - 12-06-17 01:15 PM

I have a hybrid system with one E120 classic and two Axiom Pro units.

The AIS 650 is currently only connected to the E120 classic via the NMEA 0183 bus configured at 38,400 baud.

Can I also use the SeaTalk ng connection on the AIS 650 to connect to the NMEA 2000 bus that feeds the AXIOMs and the E120 classic? Will such a connection provide AIS information to the AXIOMs?

Thanks,

Jon

Welcome to the Raymarine Forum Jon,

As the E-Series Classic MFDs are not designed to process any AIS data present on a SeaTalkng / NMEA 2000 backbone, it should be possible to connect the ASI650 to the SeaTalkng / NMEA 2000 backbone to support using AIS features on the Axiom MFDs.
