I've replaced the speaker wire with twisted pair foil wrapped cable with the drain wire connected to the ground buss.
The problem still persists even at the 1st or 2nd volume level, anything beyond that is almost instant screeching from the hailer.
The current hailer is a (new during Ray70 install) Standard Horizon 240SW, rated for 40W at 4 ohms.
I've even tried a different hailer rated for 15W at 4 ohms. The only difference this made was I could put the talking volume up to the 3rd or 4th level instead of 1 or 2 with the 4 ohm hailer.

At present, problem report will be forwarded to the engineering team for consideration to be investigated further. At this time we have not received similar reports concerning updated Ray70s and hailer issues. I will send you contact information for the communications product support lead who will be presenting the report to the engineering team.
