Display is not responding to memory card with software update files within its reader

The most common mistake in updating product software is to copy the downloaded zip file directly to the microSD memory card. Instead, the software update instructions call for downloading the update zip file containing the software update files to your computer and then open the zip file (appears like a folder Windows 8 and 10). Within the zip file, you will find a number of files which must all be selected, copied, and then pasted into the memory card's root level directory (i.e. not within any folders created on the memory card).

Should the memory card be inserted into the display's memory card reader, the display then be switched ON, and the display then boot up normally rather than perform a software update, then it is possible that the display's memory card reader may have suffered a failure. The display's memory card reader may be tested by replacing the software update card with a compatible chart card and then attempting to view detailed cartography via the display's Chart applications. Alternatively, the display's memory card reader may be tested by attempting to capture the display's screen image or attempting to export waypoints stored within the display's memory to the memory card containing the software update files. Should the display report that it was successful in performing either of these actions, then the display's memory card reader would be deemed to be operational. However, should the display report that it was unsuccessful in performing either of these actions, then the display's memory card reader would be deemed to have suffered a failure, necessitating that it be serviced by Raymarine’s Product Repair Center.
