The power supply cable A06049 has three different wires, red(+), black (-) and shield. When connecting, shall shield and minus connect to ground or shall I just connect minus and cut the shield?

The lead which you have referred to is the cable's drain lead. Please click here to view a FAQ addressing what should be done with product drain leads.
