[CA11] Networking query - Mike - Mana NZ - 11-28-18 03:45 PM

I currently have on board an E98 unit with a network wire running to an a78 unit
This works brilliantly
I note my E98 unit has two network plugs , the other one goes to the radar
My query
I would like to add one more A78 unit to the set up , is there a small network switch
available or another way of linking the three together ?

Welcome to the Raymarine Forum Mike,

The short answer is that you will need to install a HS5 RayNet Network Switch. I would recommend that the HS5 RayNet Network Switch be installed in a convenient location. The best installation practice for systems which require or employ a network switch(es) would be for each compatible product having an Ethernet communications interface be connected to a network switch rather than to be daisy chained to a MFD's Ethernet communications interfaces. Such daisy chains would require that the MFD forming the daisy chains always be on when the system is used ... or fail to permit communications with the other devices within the Ethernet network.
