[DG11] C120 Engine information - philipdawsonladds - 03-01-19 10:48 PM

I am thinking through how to connect and display engine information on my C120 (plotter) from twin Volvo Penta D4-260A-C diesels. If I understand things right (not certain about this!) then I need:
2 x E70240 (link to Seatalk) – E70227 (ECI-100) – E70305 (Y Engine cable)

Does this sound right and would I need a software update for each engine??

Thanks

Hi philipdawsonladds

Thank you for your enquiry.

The C classic series of MFDs will accept some basic engine PGNs through the SeaTalk 2 port, but please be aware that the scope to display data will be quite limited.

Further details and information regarding interfacing can be found here and will explain further.

The E70305 is a Y cable used with Caterpillar diesels and so not required.

If the two diesels have separate NMEA 2000 backbones, then you should use 2 x ECI100 E70227 in addition to the cables suggested in the FAQ linked to this response.

We would always recommend the latest software is used.

Thanks
Derek
