[CA11] C120W Upgrade - WWMS - 04-23-19 07:23 AM

Good morning. Looking for a recommended upgrade for the C120W (Master and Slave) that will allow using the existing digital open array radar and transducer. The transducer looks to be an Airmar B175 from the inside. Sonar module is unknown? Thank you.

Rich

Welcome to the Raymarine Forum Rich,

Please click here to view a FAQ addressing this subject. As indicated within the referenced FAQ, the currently installed radome or open array radar pedestal may be retained for use with the new system. Unless seeking to add additional sonar imaging features (ex. RealVision 3D, SideVision, or 1kW CHIRP sonar imaging) to the system, I would recommend that you consider installation of a pair of Axiom Pro S 12 MFDs and that the DSM300 fishinder sounder module (presently connected to your B175 transducer) be replaced with a CP370 fishfinder sounder module.

I thought the transducer was a B175 but I saw the label today and it is actually a B164 transducer. Do I still swap out the DSM 300 and install the CP370 sounder? Thank you.

Good morning.

Currently the radar VCM100 module and DSM300 goes to a Seatalk HS switch (not the HS5) then to the STHS1 port of each C120W. Can I retain this switch? Is it best to adapt the existing STHS1 to Raynet using the A80160 cable or run a new cable between the Axiom pro to the switch? Thank you.

Rich

WWMS,

Q1. Can I retain this switch?
A1. Yes.

Q2. Is it best to adapt the existing STHS1 to Raynet using the A80160 cable or run a new cable between the Axiom pro to the switch?
A2. It is typically recommended that the currently installed SeaTalkhs cables be left in place and that they be adapted to be mated to the Axiom MFDs and CP370 (if you will be installing one to replace the DSM300).
