I have just purchased an Axiom 7 and am trying to setup engine hours. the engines involved are Volvo Penta AD41P's, which were driving analogue gauges. I have installed an Albatross Albacombi analogue to nmea2000 converter which is working well converting engine data and tank data. The only aspect of my old analogue gauges i am having difficulty with replacing is the engine hours element. The engines don't have a facility for this as the engine hours were recorded on the tachometer, presumably as a result of rpm indication. how do i get the Axiom to continue with the recording of the hours without a PGN data input for engine hours (i.e record off of the tacho activity) and how do i set the engine hours to the current hours.
