[DG11] Evolution ACU 150 & Type 1 Hydraulic Pump - Norman - 05-23-19 01:12 PM

I am about to commence the installation of this system to my Mercury Verado 250 outboard engine and have 2 questions:

Firstly, in the installation guide for the pump, the diagrams only show 3 hoses connected to the helm pump whereas my helm pump has 4 hoses - 2 going to the steering ram and 2 going to the main pump. Any ideas please?

Secondly, on unpacking the pump I have noted that there is already some oil inside. Is this solely for packing/transit purposes and can it be emptied out as I do not know what the type of oil is. My main pump uses 0-30W oil.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Norman.

Dear Norman,

Thank you for your post.

You have a constant running pump for the Verado engine, they should have supplied you with installation instructions for connecting to their system, this will tell you how to connect the system.

The oil is purely for testing in the factory, this can be disposed of.

Many Thanks
Louise
