Chuck

E70150 i60 Wind Pack

Is there any issue severing and adding connectors to the transducer cable?
(Wind transducer (E22078) with 100 ft. cable )

We often remove the mast over winter for component servicing - so for simplicity need to disconnect/reconnect that cable at deck.

Can I break and add connectors about 40 feet from the transducer? If so do you recommend connectors - they would need to be seriously watertight - IPV6 at least!

thank you

RE: Interface EV-100 Sail to Raymarine wind transducer
Hey Chuck

I spoke with your colleague Marc about the process to operate the EV-100 Sail - Autopilot by wind direction rather than by compass course. He provided me a simple 3 step process as follows:

On autopilot instrument P70
Step 1
MENU
Setup/Autopilot calibration/Vessel Settings/Hull type/SAIL
DOUBLE CHECK that SAIL is selected

Step 2
MENU
Mode/WindVane/SELECT
You should see immediate reaction - start to turn rudder
Now the autopilot will steer to wind direction.

Step 3
To AutoTack
press +10 & +1 at the same time to tack to STARBOARD
press -10 & -1 at the same time to tack to PORT

Thanks for your help - I'll wait for this nor'easter to blow away the rain and get out to try it!

Thanks

jp
