[CA11] Garmin GPSMAP instruments to C70 Classic via NMEA0183
Hello, I have a C70 classic with latest software and Navionics charts being used solely as Radar.

I would like to add wind/speed/GPS to the C70, would this be possible by way of the Garmins instrument data (from NMEA2000) repeated to the Garmins output NMEA0183 to C70 NMEA0183 input via a R08004 cable and if so how should the wiring be spliced?

Thank you

RE: [CA11] Garmin GPSMAP instruments to C70 Classic via NMEA0183
Welcome to the Raymarine Forum networklabs,

While it would certainly be possible to achieve the end which you are seeking (assuming that unspecified model of Garmin GPSMap product (you will need to provide the specifics) supports such bridging), the best installation practice would be add a NMEA 2000 to NMEA 0183 data bridging device (ex. Actisense NGW-1, etc.) to the system's NMEA 0183 backbone and then interface the NMEA 0183 data bridging device's NMEA 0183 OUT/TX+ and OUT/TX- leads/terminals to the NMEA 0183 IN+ (white) and NMEA 0183 IN- (green) of the MFD's NMEA 0183 Cable respectively. The recommended solution would support supplying instrument data to the C70 MFD, irrespective of whether the Garmin GPSMap product is switched ON or OFF.
